For film and TV writers, this class will help you see through the eyes of the actors you are writing for!
This class will teach you:
- What is expected of you as a film and television actor from each of the people you’ll be working with (the director, the editor, the camera people and even the make-up artist)
- You’ll know precisely how to change your acting from stage acting to what is needed in film level acting. And you’ll know exactly what is needed from you in all types of shots in film and television acting.
- We will cover monologues and commercials for film and television.
- You’ll understand the structure of screenplays fully, and what to do as an actor when you are constantly called upon to shoot things out of sequence.
- You’ll understand the importance of where your eyes need to be focused while on camera. This can make or break actors and determine the professionalism of their work. This is far different than stage acting.
- A number of fun improvisational exercises will help you accomplish some of the vital skills on this list.
- This class will culminate in a short scene that you would definitely be cast for. It will be filmed professionally so you can add this scene to your actor’s reel, so directors and casting directors can see the strength of your work.
Class Details
Join us today! Classes are taught in Lake Forest. The address will be given to you when you sign up for the class.
Classes start on:
- Saturday Feb. 1st and Saturday Feb. 8th from 1:30 – 3:30 PM.
After that classes will be held on:
- Sunday evenings starting February 16th to March 23rd from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
Class Tuition
- PART A: The tuition for this class is $495, but is only $395 if purchased by THURSDAY, JANUARY 23rd 2025 at 9 PM.
- PART B: There is an additional tuition charge of $150 to shoot a professional film acting scene. This fee is due by the 4th week of the class on, February 22nd 2025.
- Bigger Discount: If both fees are paid by January 23, 2025, the total for both segments of this class will be $520 (which includes a $25 dollar discount on the shooting of the professional acting scene.)

About the Instructors

Pamela Peak is an Emmy-Nominated, award-winning writer/producer/director whose films have been seen across the US and Canada by millions of viewers. Her films have also won awards and been seen around the world in film festivals such as The Palm Beach Film Festival, she is a two-time winner of The Garden State Film Festival, The California Independent Film Festival, and her films have appeared even in Mumbai India at the Gandhi Film Festival and many more. Her screenwriting awards encompass such festivals as Los Angeles Cinequest, The Napa Valley Film Festival, The Garden State Film Festival, The DaVinci Film Festival in Santa Monica, CA and many more.

Sohrob Shahmirzadi is a fourth-year, Film and Media Studies graduates major at University of California Irvine. Experienced within film and acting, he has studied the Meisner technique under Pamela Peak and The Performer’s Academy and has learned various dimensions of the filmmaking art. Throughout his journey, Sohrob has gained experience with video editing, cinematography, directing, and in-depth film analysis to work in conjunction with his aspirations as an actor. Sohrob has also performed in multiple plays with the On Impulse Acting Troupe such as The Haunting of Cabrillo Playhouse as well as multiple short films.
